Privacy policy
Short version: your recordings stay on your computer unless you choose to publish a post through a connected account, and the only personal data we hold is the email address and license key attached to a purchase, and the email address you give us if you sign up for our emails.

Who we are. ClutchClip is published by SaliimLabs ("we", "us"). Contact:hello@clutchclip.org.
1. Your media never reaches us
ClutchClip processes video and audio entirely on your device. Transcription, moment detection, caption rendering, translation and reframing all run locally. We do not receive, store, transmit, inspect or train on your recordings, transcripts, clip titles or exports. ClutchClip never uploads anything on its own, which is also why the app keeps working with no internet connection.
Post it for me — only when you choose it. If you connect a platform account (in this version, YouTube only) and confirm a "Post it for me" post, ClutchClip sends that post — the video, its text, the options you chose and any thumbnail or captions you attach — from your computer straight to that platform when it is time to post it. It never goes through our servers and we never receive a copy. The sign-in the platform gives ClutchClip stays encrypted on your computer; disconnecting removes it and asks the platform to revoke it. What the platform does with your post is covered by its own privacy policy. Everything else, including every post you mark as posted yourself, stays on your computer.
2. What we do collect
- Purchase details. When you buy a plan, our payment processor collects your email address and payment details. We receive your email address, the plan you bought, Stripe customer/order/subscription identifiers, payment status and the license key issued, never your full card number.
- License activation. Activating a key sends the key and a non-reversible machine fingerprint to our license server, so a license can be limited to two seats. The fingerprint is not linked to any other data and cannot be used to identify you personally.
- Update checks. The app asks the update server whether a newer signed build exists. That request carries the app version and platform, and (like any HTTP request) your IP address, which we do not retain in an identifiable log.
- Optional search features. If you use the stock-footage browser (Pexels and Pixabay) or YouTube search, the app sends your search terms to those services, only when you use them.
- Emails you send us. If you email support, we keep the thread so we can help you.
- Email updates (optional). If you sign up for our weekly email, a free download or trial tips, we keep your email address, which form you used, the date, and the IP address used to sign up. Cloudflare Turnstile checks the form for bots, and we send the emails through Resend. Every email has an unsubscribe link; after you unsubscribe we keep only a record of it so we don't email you again. To have your address deleted, email hello@clutchclip.org.
Website analytics
This covers the clutchclip.org website only. The ClutchClip app does not include any of these tools, and nothing from your videos or projects is ever sent to them.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page traffic and measures page speed for everyone. It sets no cookies and builds no visitor profiles.
- Google Analytics 4 measures which pages are visited, how visitors arrived (for example a search engine, a social post, or a tagged campaign link), general device, browser and approximate location information, and clicks on key buttons such as download and checkout. It uses first-party cookies named
_ga. Google's advertising features and Google Signals are turned off, and Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. - Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used, including clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and turns that into heatmaps and session replays that help us find confusing parts of the site. Text you type into the site, such as your email address, is masked before it leaves your browser. It uses cookies named
_clckand_clsk.
For visitors in the United States and most other countries, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity run by default, and you can turn them off at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked first, and these two tools stay off unless they choose Accept. Choosing Decline stops both tools and removes their cookies from this site.
Neither tool loads on the page you see after checkout. Links sent to these tools have their query details removed, except campaign tags such as utm_source. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not sell it. Google and Microsoft process it under their own privacy terms: the Google Privacy Policy and theMicrosoft Privacy Statement. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
Web fonts are requested from Google Fonts, which receives the request's IP address as part of serving the font.
3. What we never collect
No telemetry on how you use the app. No content of your files, not even the posts you publish (they go straight to the platform). No contact list, no browsing history, no microphone or camera access beyond files you explicitly open. There is no advertising identifier because there is no advertising.
4. Processors we use
- Stripe:payment processing and subscription billing.
- Our license server:issuing and validating license keys.
- GitHub:hosting installers and release notes.
- Resend:delivering purchase, license and newsletter emails.
- Cloudflare Turnstile:checking email signup forms for bots.
- Email hosting:receiving and retaining support conversations.
- Cloudflare, Google and Microsoft:website analytics, as described in section 2.
5. Legal basis and retention
We process purchase and license data to perform the contract you entered into when buying a license, and to meet tax and accounting obligations. Purchase records are kept as long as the law requires (typically six to seven years). Support emails are kept while they are useful and then deleted. License records last as long as the license.
6. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to processing. Emailhello@clutchclip.org and we will respond within 30 days. Deleting your purchase record deactivates the license tied to it. If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
7. Children
ClutchClip is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly hold their data.
8. International transfers
Our processors may store data outside your country. Because the data we hold is limited to an email address, a plan and a license key, the transfer risk is correspondingly small; processors are chosen for their standard contractual protections.
9. Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top and, for anything that affects existing customers, email license holders. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
